Coach Jak

Hi, I’m Coach Jak.

I am a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) with over 25 years of actual experience. I was in charge of fitness for 5 separate commands while serving my 20+ years of Active Duty in the U.S. Navy.

After sustaining a leg and back injury back in 2002, I was unable to exercise and had a tough fight with depression and poor eating choices. This caused me to gain so much weight that I was almost kicked out of the military for continuously exceeding body fat standards and failing multiple Physical Fitness Tests.

In May of 2003, I was given the choice to either get kicked out of the military or take responsibility for my actions and change my lifestyle. Since I have never been one to shy from a challenge, I sought help from the fitness professionals available to me and was on stage in my first bodybuilding competition in May of 2005.

Since that first competition, I have been dedicated to helping others who want to make healthy lifestyle changes in their lives. After attending multiple fitness workshops and leading fitness at multiple commands, I decided it was time to take things a bit more seriously and continue down the path that I was now on. After gaining my Certified Personal Trainer qualification, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Kaplan University, and my Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas while gaining additional certifications for Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement. Using the knowledge I have gained over the years, both through my professional education as well as from my own trial and  error, I now create custom programs for my clients to help them to achieve their specific goals.

From football to cheer, basketball to MMA, volleyball to off-road bicycling, competitive dance to physique competitions, running an obstacle race to working construction, every person is a unique individual who needs a training program written for their individual needs. I know how to help you reach your goals because I have done the work and I have learned how to be as efficient as possible with my training principles. Now it is time for me to share this knowledge with you!
